Our students today are part of a world wide historical event that has, by default, shaken the foundation of the "great equalizer": Public Education.
With Distance Learning, we are asking our students to be more resourceful and resilient than ever.
Therefore, it's never been more urgent that students are able to clearly see and understand the learning process, to be guided in a modality of ways, including audibly and visually.
It is my job to ensure my third grade students continue to be engaged, curious, challenged and empowered. They are learning remotely, but the fundamentals of teaching and learning have not changed.
With this document camera, for example, I can model math problem solving, for example, using manipulatives that bring concepts to life. I can record, in real time, students' responses to text, so they can see and share their smart thinking with the class. This document camera will allow my third graders to stay engaged, focused, and excited about all subjects, including math, reading, writing, science and even art, through Covid 19 and beyond.
