As a fifth grade teacher I share a room with a great group of kids. They are energetic and love to learn which is a blessing because our educational leaders are always raising the bar. An engaging classroom is a necessity today. Kids have to stay on task most of the day, which is difficult. Providing flexible seating using Surf Desks will give them an opportunity to "change their scenery" or to simply move their bodies. Additionally, having the portable storage rack will ensure that we have our Surf Desks for many years to come.

In my classroom I try to create active learning opportunities throughout the day. Without engagement, I will not get buy-in from the students. In reality, I'm competing with Youtubers and gamers for my students' attention. Let's face it, if I do not capture their attention I'm wasting everyone's time. Creating an environment that gives the students choice with their seating is a great "tool" to use to instill a love of learning.
