My students live in a high poverty district with a very diverse population. Most students struggle with problem solving in math because they are not exposed to enough mathematical opportunities. For many of my students English is a second language and that makes things even harder for them to comprehend. By learning their multiplication and division facts it will make them feel more successful in math and have a higher confidence solving math problems.
