Our school is old which means the supplies are old as well. I am in my 23rd year of teaching first grade and I am slowly trying to update my classroom. We have many educational programs that we use iPads to work on like EPIC, Zearn and I-ready.
However, the iPads require headphones and we do not have many working headphones.
The headphones provided are either falling apart, they do not work at all or they give us earbuds, which fall out of the first graders ears. The students are told they may provide their own headphones, however not many if any do.
